TR500 Restoration

Why restore a TR500 radio?

As a primary school child, it was not possible for me to access electronic components and so I rattled back then (approx. 1972) Radio-television repair shops with the request to give me equipment that can no longer be repaired.

 

Among them at that time was a TR500, which became the source of the first transistors (Germanium Transistors OCxxx) with which I experimented and built up the first circuits.

When I came across such a device years ago and the production date of 1959 was still visible, memories were awakened and the story took its course....

The radio was really in terrible condition and I was disassembling and cleaning plate for board.
The greatest challenge, however, was to reconstruct the front panel (there was nothing left)!
All the restoration work has taken weeks and is also recorded in a book (photo book).
